A Toronto 29-year-old man was charged with first degree murder - in the murder of student at the University of York 23 year - old Qian Liu.

Brian Dickson must appear in court Thursday morning.

A police source said star missing webcam, laptop and cell phone were not seized in the arrest. They are still missing and take the main indices in the investigation.

Police announced the arrest as an aircraft carrying relatives mourns the loss of Liu landed Wednesday afternoon.

The exhausted pair was inaugurated with Pearson Airport by the staff of the Chinese Consulate, held momentarily before address journalists being marked on a private trip.

"We are very sad but we would like to take this opportunity to thank … everybody, media, community and staff of the Chinese Consulate," Jianhui Liu, father of the victim, said after the flight of 13 hours of Beijing. "Thank you, but we're really tired."

Liu was found in a bare size basement apartment, police said, adding that no obvious signs of trauma.

Police is still waiting for the results of Toxicology tests to determine the cause of death.

Police asked the media not to publish photos of Dickson, saying that it will compromise their inquiry. They also stressed that a photograph of the man that circulate in Internet language chatrooms Chinese, supposed to be connected to the assassination, is not of Dickson.

This week, the Star reported that Liu had been harassed by a man, painted as a suitor rejected in a popular Chinese chat room. However, the police said that there is no evidence of "stalking".

Liu arrived at the Canada in September and lived in a House on Ave. Haynes before moving to the Aldwinckle Heights apartment in January.

Forensic police vans were parked this week from two residences, located near York University.

A friend of Liu posted online that the suspect had lived with the victim, but police would not confirm that, or explain why she moved so suddenly.

A person of interest was interviewed early in the investigation and released. At the time, police said they were a check out his alibi.

Police would not confirm if the man arrested is the person whom they had interviewed.

Friend of the victim in China told CTV News in Beijing to watch a man trying to kiss before Liu of assault on him.

He said that his conversation with his girlfriend webcam was interrupted when Liu heard knocks on the door about 1 a.m. Friday. A man entered the apartment and wanted a hug, but grew aggressive when Liu refused. The webcam was then disconnected.

"At this time, my mind went blank and I was cursing him of my webcam, I so far as I could not join it."I felt so helpless and I could not calm down until the end, the guy has closed the computer, he told CTV, adding then he contacted friends of Liu to the Canada.

The head of the Toronto police homicide team said a new "team approach" to a murder investigation - assignment of a team of detectives to a fresh case only two - led to the quick arrest. The approach used by the police force Peel and successfully highly, means a witness may be questioned five times if necessary.

Police put out a description of the suspect but never said if they had interviewed more than one person corresponding to this profile.
