Tokyo (cnn) - at least six people were killed when a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Tuesday morning at the Japan, a local fire department said.
The six were killed when a landslide triggered by the earthquake buried three houses in Iwaki, said City Fire Department. Three people were rescued and hospitalized, and fire officials were working to rescue an unknown number of others seems to be taken to the trap, the Ministry said.
The earthquake at about 8 h 08 Tuesday (7: 08 pm Monday and), according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It had a depth of approximately 13 km (8 miles) and was centered at 77 km east southeast of Tokyo.

The previous earthquake was centered about 100 miles (164 km) northeast of Tokyo and approximately 30 miles (50 km) southwest of the nuclear Fukushima Daiichi crippled, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
In Iwaki landslides buried three houses. First in Fukushima Prefecture police reported that four people were trapped. Iwaki said later more than Fire Department took four people trapped, but the exact number was not clear.
The authorities are trying to save their. Their condition was not immediately known, police said.
The earthquake did not cause a tsunami.
