
(CNN) - Yemen recalled its Ambassador to the Qatar, a gesture which comes in the outrage that his Prime Minister spoke of an agreement for Embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh to resign.
"The Ambassador was recalled for consultation by the strained relations between the Yemen and the Qatar," according to an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who did not want to be named because he is not allowed to speak to the media.
"The main reason for recall of our Ambassador was the comments given by the Prime Minister of Qatar." "We need him here for more details," said the official of the Department. The Yemeni Ambassador to the Qatar is Abdul Malik Saeed Abdu.
The move is an alliance of six nations of the Gulf Arab nations has worked to bring stability to the Yemen, where the angry street protests have raged for weeks.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamed bin Jassem Friday said of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries "hope to conclude an agreement with the Yemeni resign, President" the official at the Qatar News Agency. The GCC is composed of the United Arab Emirates United, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and the Qatar.
Saleh, said that he welcomed the efforts of the GCC to help resolve the political crisis in the Yemen. He said that he intends to resign but only through a process of peaceful and constitutional transition.
But think the Yemeni Government call for an agreement that would lead to the departure of Saleh now goes too far.
Officials are angry that Prime Minister Qatari discussed publicly the resignation of the President, who has warned against the potential dangers of foreign intervention in what it said are internal matters.
"We receive our power and the confidence of large Yemeni people and the constitution," Saleh said Friday State television. "We reject any new initiative to the country with the current crisis of the Yemen."
The United States, which was allied with the Saleh Government in its fight against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, said that he welcomes the initiative of the Council of the Gulf.
"We encourage strongly all sides to engage in this dialogue urgently necessary to reach a solution supported by the Yemeni people,", said Mark Toner, spokesman for the State Department.
"President Saleh has publicly expressed its willingness to engage in a peaceful transition of power;" the calendar and the shape of this transition should be identified through the negotiation and begin soon.
Protest and violence has raged in the Yemen, where many Yemenis do not like the President for a long time and want him to depart.
Friday, security forces opened fire on the crowd with tear gas and live ammunition in the city of the southwest of Taiz, that resulted in two deaths and injuries at least 300, said nurses in conflict.Journalist Hakim Almasmari contributed to this report.
