(CNN) - the Iran expelled three diplomats Kuwaiti, last week in retaliation for the expulsion of the Kuwait of three Iranian diplomats last week, the Iran official press TV reported Sunday.
Kuwait claimed that the Iranian expelled were related to a spy ring operating from the Embassy of Iran in Kuwait City, with the network assumed to gather information on the United States to the Kuwait military facilities, reported press TV.
Iranian officials denied that their diplomats were involved in espionage, suggesting that it is only a plot U.S. to embrace "the current repression on popular movements," in the region said of press TV.
The United States has operated military bases in the Kuwait since American troops arrived there in 1991 the battle to drive Saddam Hussein invading Iraqi troops in the region.
