Several events at the Yemen - Xinhua

(BEIJING, April 14, Xinhuanet.com) - security forces were faced with thousands of anti-government demonstrators in the South Yemen. At least one person was killed during the crackdown on Wednesday, in the main city of the region Aden.

Supported by tanks and artillery, the armed police and anti-riot fired live bullets and tear gas into the crowd. Medical officials say one victim died, while seven that other were wounded. In the capital, Sana'a, thousands of demonstrators staged some of the largest gatherings of the country to date. They called for more freedom and less poverty.

In mid-February, Yemen from the site of many marches anti-administration, demanding an immediate end to the rule of 33 years of President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The political crisis resulted in the deterioration of the security and stability in the country.
