(CNN) - severe storms which struck a large part of the South Monday evening left at least five people dead across three States, officials said.
Local authorities reported one death in Mississippi, three Georgia and one in Tennessee.
Violent winds bat pounding rain also upside-down trees and power lines, knocking electricity in some regions.
Ellis Stuart, corner with Copiah County, Mississippi, said that the State had a fatal accident when a 20-year-old man was hit by a tree fell on the road.
In the Georgia butts County, the Sheriff's Office reported two deaths - a man and his son - after a tree fell on their apartment building.
In the community of Greston in Dodge County, the Georgia, the emergency management agency said one person was killed and two others were hospitalized.
Memphis (Tennessee), an 87-year-old man died when he came into contact with a power line slaughtered in his court, depending on the provider of power light of Memphis, gas and water.
The National Weather Service said that he has received about 600 reports of high winds throughout Southeast Monday, 19 suspected cases damage related to the Tornado and 72 reports of hail.
